Visitoons was created inspired in the idea of three young technophiles determined to deliver a unique set of products that combine business, communication, interactivity and fun, with remarkable visual and technical quality.
Visitoons started as a project in July 2007. Since then, over 60 professionals have collaborated in creating the Visitoons Virtual Worlds Platform, a framework that allows the creation of Virtual Worlds.
In January 2008, the company launched its first product, Visitoons Mix, a proof of concept that helped orienting the development of the creations to follow. Visitoons Mix is a system that allows Internet users to interact live with the rest of the people browsing the same Web page, with an on-screen animated avatar on top of the page’s content.
Only a few months later, in June 2008, Visitoons Chat was launched. This second product is a Virtual Chat portal where users can pick an animated caricature character as an avatar, and interact with the rest of the people using a vast range of social tools.
With the experience gained with the creation of these first two products, the company then focused on the creation of a platform that would allow third parties to easily create customized virtual worlds in a fast and cost-effective way. The Visitoons Platform was launched during the Virtual Worlds London Conference in October 2008.
Today, the company distributes the Visitoons Platform over a network of Technology Partners and Creative Partners, which deploy implementations on independent projects.
